Frequently asked questions
How are you different from a chain drugstore?
Chain drugstores focus on selling drugs and frontend products. They push their pharmacists to get as many prescriptions filled as possible without giving them enough time to make sure that your prescriptions are the best for your health. Unfortunately, this means chain drugstore staff often can't give you more than a few minutes of their time and respond to your medication questions with answers like, "It's what the doctor prescribed."
At Wellcome Pharmacy, we believe in providing pharmacy services the way it was intended. Our pharmacist makes every effort to understand you and your medication profile. You'll notice that our pharmacist will often ask you questions. This helps her get to know you and identify other factors that need to be considered for your medication therapy.
We feel strongly about doing pharmacy the right way because we live right here in West Valley. We know our patients are members of the wonderful community that we live in, and we want to make sure that they have the very best pharmacy care.
Can you dispense all prescriptions drugs?
We are a full service pharmacy and use the same wholesaler as the drug store chains. This means we have access to all of the same medications you can find at any other store.
Do you accept all insurances?
We are an "in-network" provider for nearly all major insurance plans including Medi-Cal. The notable exceptions are Kaiser Permanente HMO plans which requires their members to fill their prescriptions at a Kaiser Permanente pharmacy.
How do I transfer a prescription to your pharmacy?
If you have an existing prescription at another pharmacy, you can either call or visit us in person to provide us the information we need to transfer your prescription to our pharmacy.
You can also contact your doctor's office to send your current and future prescriptions to us. Our national provider identifier or NPI number is 1316799109.
Do you offer immunization services?
Yes, we provide immunization services for most common vaccines. To ensure your privacy and comfort, we have a dedicated private room for administering immunization. This is often helpful for families with children. Please give us a call to schedule a time if you are interested in getting a vaccine.
Do you accept HSA, HRA, or FSA cards?
We are able to accept your HSA, HRA, and FSA cards as payment for eligible items.
Do you accept OTC Benefit Cards?
We are now part of the NationsBenefits provider network and can accept your Anthem Blue Cross OTC benefits card for purchasing OTC medications.
